Outdoor Shades

Get your patio back from the afternoon sun.

Motorized outdoor shades that block heat, glare, wind, and bugs — so the best room in a Puget Sound summer is the one without walls. Measured and installed by our own crew.

Why Outdoor Shades

Those few great months deserve better

Puget Sound summers are short, and a west-facing patio can be unusable exactly when you want it most — late afternoon through sunset. Outdoor shades change that: they cut the heat and glare while keeping your view and airflow, turn a covered patio into a usable outdoor room, and — with the zipper-track system — keep the evening bugs on the other side of the screen.

They also work indoors-out: exterior shades stop solar heat before it hits the glass, so the rooms behind those big sliders stay cooler without running the AC.

Two systems, one clean look

Cable-Guided

Stainless steel cables keep the shade clean and wind-resistant — great for covered patios.

Zipper Track

Fabric locks into enclosed side channels — sealed against wind, rain spray, and bugs.

Motorized, smart, and warranty-covered

Patio-width shades are heavy — motorization isn't a luxury out here, it's the right tool. Choose remote control, or go with the Smart package and your patio shades join your smart home: "Alexa, close the patio shades" or an automatic schedule that beats the afternoon sun. Solar power is an especially good fit outdoors — no wiring needed.

And yes, our warranty covers them. Outdoor and motorized shades are covered by the same package warranties as everything we install — up to 5 years — backed by the local crew that put them up. Before you buy outdoor shades anywhere, check the warranty fine print; coverage for outdoor and motorized products is not a given.

Outdoor shade questions, answered

Can they handle wind?
Yes — that's the job of the guidance system. Zipper-track shades lock into enclosed side channels and stay taut in gusty conditions; cable-guided systems handle moderate wind at a lower price. We'll recommend the right system for your patio's exposure at the consultation.
Do they survive PNW winters?
The systems we install use marine-grade fabrics and corrosion-resistant hardware built for year-round outdoor use. Many customers simply roll them up into the protective cassette for the winter — one button if you've gone motorized.
Do they block the view?
Solar-screen fabrics are designed to cut heat and glare while preserving your view out — like sunglasses for your patio. Privacy and blackout fabrics are available where you want full coverage.
How big can they go?
Outdoor systems span significantly wider than interior shades — most patio and deck openings can be covered with a single unit. We measure your exact opening at the free consultation.
