Outdoor shades can reduce direct sun and glare to make a covered patio more comfortable. Fabric choice affects outward view and airflow. Zipper-track systems help reduce side gaps; insect protection depends on the full enclosure and installation.

Exterior shades also help reduce direct sun on the glass behind them. The effect depends on the fabric, your patio’s exposure, and the time of day.

Stainless steel cables guide the fabric for a clean look on covered patios. We confirm operating limits for your selected system.

Zipper Track

Fabric runs in enclosed side channels to help reduce side gaps and keep the screen in place. We check the fit and exposure at your patio.

Motorized, smart, and warranty-covered

Motorized operation makes wide patio shades easier to adjust. Choose remote control, or ask about the Smart package for compatible app, voice, or schedule control. We confirm the motor, power option, and smart-home requirements for your opening before you order.

And yes, our warranty covers them. Outdoor and motorized shades are covered by the same package warranties as everything we install — up to 5 years — backed by the local crew that put them up. Before you buy outdoor shades anywhere, check the warranty fine print; coverage for outdoor and motorized products is not a given.

Can they handle wind?

Wind suitability depends on the system, shade size, and exposure. We check your opening and explain the selected product’s operating limits and when it should be retracted. A patio shade is not a storm barrier.

Do they survive PNW winters?

We choose an outdoor system for your opening and explain its care and seasonal storage requirements. Weather exposure varies by patio, so we confirm the appropriate use and retraction guidance for your specific shade.

Do they block the view?

Solar-screen fabrics can reduce glare while preserving some outward view. More opaque fabrics provide different light and privacy effects. We compare suitable fabrics for your system and explain how the view changes with lighting.

How big can they go?

The maximum size depends on the shade system, fabric, and exposure. We measure your opening and confirm whether one shade or multiple units are suitable before you order.
